About my art
Art and creativity have always been present in my life. From an early age, I was surrounded by colour, form, and imagination. My mother, a naturally creative and artistic woman, spent long afternoons painting on canvas, effortlessly bringing ideas, thoughts, and visions to life before my eyes. Watching her work planted a quiet seed — one that would stay with me, waiting for the right moment to grow.
Stone Stories
Every piece I create is unique — just like every stone itself.
My work begins with a deep respect for nature and form. Nature is at the heart of my work. For this reason, I collect natural sea stones in minimal quantities, ensuring respect for the marine environment. Alongside them, I also work with crafted stones, created in my home-studio using porcelain casting powder and molds, allowing for perfectly smooth, harmonious surfaces while maintaining an organic, tactile feel.
Whether shaped by the sea or by hand, each stone becomes a canvas for mindful creation.
Bio
Sandrine Maffre is a contemporary French–Greek artist whose work explores the symbolic, aesthetic, and spiritual language of mandalas through the meditative practice of dot painting. A lifelong creative deeply inspired by the natural world, Sandrine draws from multiple creative spheres — from ancient pattern traditions and sacred geometry to contemporary colour palettes and tactile materiality. Her work reflects a quiet dialogue between nature, rhythm, and inner stillness.
